The Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal has two user roles: Admin and Viewer. Each user role has a different level of access, which lets your nonprofit control what each person can see and change in the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal. We recommend that the user who claims the nonprofit's account on the Nonprofit Portal take on the Admin role initially.
What user roles are available in the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal?
The Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal has two user roles:
- Admin: An Admin user has full access to the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal, including payment settings, banking information, user management, and reports.
- Viewer: A Viewer user has read-only access. A Viewer user can view reports and the nonprofit profile but cannot change any information.
What can I access in the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal before completing identity verification?
Admins must complete identity verification after registering for the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal. Until identity verification is complete, you cannot:
- View donation or disbursement data.
- Invite, remove, or manage users.
- Update your nonprofit’s profile details.
- Access financial settings, including payment and banking information.
After you complete identity verification, your access depends on your user role, either Admin or Viewer.
What can an Admin user do in the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal?
After completing identity verification, an Admin user can:
- Manage payment settings, including enrolling your nonprofit in e-payments.
- Invite new users, remove users, and change user roles.
- Update your nonprofit’s profile, banking information, and settings.
- View and download reports on donations and disbursements.
What can a Viewer user do in the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal?
A Viewer user can:
- View donation and disbursement reports.
- View your nonprofit’s profile.
A Viewer user cannot:
- Download reports.
- Edit your nonprofit’s profile.
- Manage payment settings or update banking information.
- Invite, remove, or manage users.
How to assign a user role when inviting a new user
An Admin user chooses the new user’s role, either Admin or Viewer, when inviting the new user to the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal.
How to change an existing user’s role
Only an Admin user can change another user’s role. An Admin user changes a user’s role from the Manage Users page of the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal by selecting either Admin or Viewer for that user.
How can a Viewer user get more access?
The Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal has only two user roles, so a Viewer user who needs more access must be changed to an Admin user. Ask an Admin user at your nonprofit to change your role from Viewer to Admin.
How to add a new Admin or delete a user when no Admin can do it
To permanently delete a user, or to create a new Admin user when no current Admin user can access the account, contact Givinga Foundation support at support@givingafoundation.org. The Givinga Foundation team will make the change for your nonprofit.
Please note: If a user is removed from your nonprofit's account they no longer have access to your nonprofit's account in the Givinga Foundation Nonprofit Portal. A removed user can still exist in the Givinga Foundation system. However, a permanently deleted user no longer exists in Givinga Foundation's system.
